How To Delete LastPass Account?

LastPass is a secure password manager that stores all of your usernames and passwords in one safe place called a Vault. After you save a password to your Vault, LastPass always remembers it for you. When you need to log in to a website, LastPass enters your username and password for you.

Recently, Lastpass has made some changes in the service of its Free version. More clearly, they have changed how Free users can access LastPass across device types.

Until now LastPass offers access across two device types – Computers including all browsers running on desktops and laptops or Mobile devices including mobile phones, smartwatches, and tablets. But from 16th March 2021, LastPass Free will only include access on unlimited devices of one type from one account.

For Example:

Jamie is a Free user with Computers as their active device type. She can use LastPass on her laptop, desktop and their dad’s laptop (anyone’s computer!), but they can’t use LastPass on their phone, tablet, or smartwatch unless they upgrade to LastPass Premium, which has unlimited device type access.

Alex is a Free user with Mobile Devices as their active device type. He can use LastPass on his iPhone, Android work phone, tablet, and smartwatch, but they can’t use LastPass on their desktop or laptop unless they upgrade to LastPass Premium, which has unlimited device type access.

So, as a Free user, your first Login on or after March 16th, 2021 will set your active device type. You’ll have three opportunities to switch your active device type to explore what’s right for you. Please note, that all of your devices sync automatically, so you’ll never lose access to anything stored in your vault or be locked out of your account, regardless of whether you use a computer or mobile devices to access LastPass.

After this update, many LastPass free users are now shifting to other password managers. And also they are deleting their existing account on LastPass. Before deleting your LastPass account it is strongly recommended that you export and save all of your data first, as this operation is not reversible. Here are the steps that you can follow to wipe your LastPass account permanently.

You can delete you LastPass Account either with your Master Password or without it.

How to delete LastPass account If you know your Master Password?

STEP 1: Open a web browser and go to https://lastpass.com/delete_account.php.

STEP 2: Select Delete.

STEP 3: When prompted, click Yes to indicate that you know your Master Password.

STEP 4: Enter your Master Password, then click Delete to confirm.

STEP 5: One last chance will be given to confirm your decition. There you click Yes

How to delete LastPass account If you DON’T know your Master Password?

STEP 1: Open a web browser and go to https://lastpass.com/delete_account.php.

STEP 2: Select Delete.

STEP 3: When prompted, click No to indicate that you do not know your Master Password.

STEP 4: Enter your account email address, then click Send Email.

STEP 5: Check your inbox and follow the instructions in the email to continue with your account deletion.

And you LastPass account will be deleted permanently.
